Frequently Asked Question (FAQ)
-
Your first session is a space to talk about what brings you to therapy, what you hope to change, and what support looks like for you. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable, focusing on understanding your goals and building a sense of safety and collaboration. There is no pressure to share more than you’re ready for — therapy unfolds step by step.

At Moonlit Path Psychotherapy, I specialize in helping individuals work through trauma, PTSD, complex trauma, and the lasting effects of difficult life experiences. This can include anxiety, recurring nightmares, emotional overwhelm, relationship patterns, or feeling disconnected from yourself.
My approach goes beyond traditional talk therapy. Through EMDR, somatic interventions, and deeper psychological exploration, we'll work to understand how your past experiences continue to influence your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and sense of self.
I also work with couples navigating communication difficulties, unresolved conflict, and relationship challenges. My goal is to help you move beyond simply managing symptoms and begin understanding and healing what's underneath them.

Yes! At Moonlit Path Psychotherapy, I offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based approach to treating trauma and PTSD.
Trauma doesn't always show up as a clear memory of something that happened. Sometimes it appears through anxiety, recurring nightmares, emotional triggers, negative beliefs about yourself, or patterns in relationships that are difficult to break.
EMDR helps the brain process distressing experiences so they no longer carry the same emotional intensity. My approach also incorporates somatic interventions to help you recognize how trauma shows up in your body.
We will work at a pace that feels manageable, focusing on building the tools and sense of safety needed to explore deeper experiences. The goal isn't to erase your past, but to help it have less control over your present.

Yes. This is currently the only platform that I work with. No in person sessions for now.

Life happens. I ask for at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a fee, which is explained in your intake paperwork.

Approaches like EMDR and hypnotherapy are designed to support healing without overwhelming you. We move slowly, prioritizing safety, stability, and emotional regulation before any deeper work begins. You remain present and in control throughout the process, and sessions are guided so emotional experiences feel manageable and supportive.
Therapy is always tailored to the individual. I assess readiness before introducing these modalities and continue to monitor how your nervous system responds. If something feels like too much or a different pace is needed, we adjust. Healing is collaborative. Your comfort and safety guide every step.

It’s a joking question; but a very common one! Clinical hypnotherapy isn’t stage hypnosis. You stay present, aware, and fully in control the entire time. The goal is healing and nervous system regulation, not entertainment.
No surprise behaviors, no loss of control, and no chickens involved.
